TGA is also offering the Texas Guardianship Handbook that was developed by the Texas Guardianship Association. In this Handbook, you will find references to key core competencies with links to the JBCC Rules, Code of Ethics, and Minimum Standards as well as to the Texas Estates Code.  You will also find a glossary and benefits information.  There are several case studies that will provide guidance on how to apply the standards to real life situations.

A person who wants to become a Texas Certified Guardian must pass the Judicial Branch Certification Commission’s comprehensive, Texas
specific examination on guardianship law, principles and practices.
