A person who wants to become a Texas Certified Guardian must pass the Judicial Branch Certification Commission’s comprehensive, Texas
specific examination on guardianship law, principles and practices. This Guardianship Handbook is not designed to prepare an examinee for the exam, but rather contains information that benefits guardians who will be providing quality guardianship services in Texas. For more information on the Texas guardianship certification process, please go to the JBCC website at http://www.txcourts.gov/jbcc/guardianship-certification/#Certification.
