TGA provides leadership in the following areas:

Training:
TGA has provided state and regional trainings in guardianship and alternatives to guardianship by sponsoring educational workshops every year and producing an annual conference. These conferences give guardians, social workers, attorneys and other professionals the opportunity to learn, network and obtain continuing education credits.

Guidance:
Technical assistance available for existing and newly-created programs, private agencies, institutions, governmental agencies and the public.

Advocacy:
Information provided to guardians, organizations and the public regarding new legislation and/or proposed changes.

Newsletter:
Published monthly containing articles of interest on all aspects of guardianship and its alternatives and announcements of upcoming events that relate to guardianship.

Networking:
Statewide directory for TGA members provides further opportunity for networking.

TGA expresses its thanks to the following members who contributed to the design of this website: Misti Hill Carter, Brett Charles, Claudia Gonzalez, Terry Hammond, Dyann McCully, Anna Nava, Marie Rodriguez, Inez Russell, and Greg Shannon. This website was funded, in part, by monetary contributions made by Terry Hammond, Dyann McCully, Anna Nava, and Greg Shannon, and by the members of the Texas Guardianship Association.
